Wine style classifications

Our classifications page is not yet complete - please bear with us, we hope to have this page up in the Autumn of 2003
with matching class groupings on the reviews pages.

In the meantime, those interested in classifying wines may want to look at the Larrouse des Vins (Larrouse, Paris, 1999) which provides a huge amount of background information on wine production and selection, and reviews the best producers and exporters from each of the world's significant wine producing areas. It also provides guidance on vintages for each area, food compatibilities and other useful analysis. Larrouse also recently published a wine encyclopaedia in English.

The excellent pages of www.wineanorak.com also contain some angst-ridden, from-the-heart accounts of different ways of scoring wine quality. For amateur wine-spotters only, this site is great for quality and price statistics, as well as demystifying the secrets of wine tasting and description.
